hi! we’re little loaf bakeshop!

We’re an LGBTQ-owned vegan bakery that provides daily moments of joy through creative, fun, high-quality pastries and other treats. We love what we do and we hope you can taste the care and attention to detail that our team bakes (sorry we had to) into each and every product.

Come see us in New Paltz at 218 Main Street Wednesday through Sunday from 7am-4pm and at regional farmers markets and festivals! We also supply vegan deliciousness to a few awesome cafes in the area - check them out here.

Oh, and as for the name Little Loaf…we’re named after our cats. You know when they have their little front legs under their bodies and they look like loaves of bread? That’s where it comes from. Though, arguably, at least one of our cats has graduated to Big Loaf (our big orange tabby).

We are proud to be a queer woman- & trans-owned business.

our values

Help Each Other: We look for ways to support each other, our customers, our community, and our planet, while also knowing when to ask for help ourselves. This helps build and sustain an environment where we all feel considered and cared for.

Create Joy: We look for ways to provide daily moments of joy for each other and our customers, whether through pastries, personal interactions, or contributing to a positive work environment. The smallest bit of joy can change someone’s day for the better. Including ours!

Try Something New: From adjusting our process or swapping an ingredient, to responding differently in a conversation, we stay curious and open to new ways of doing things. We don’t assume we have all the answers—or that we need to figure things out alone. Curiosity is how we learn, grow, and evolve, both individually and as a team.

land acknowledgement

Little Loaf Bakeshop operates on the ancestral land of the Wappinger, Mohican, and Munsee peoples, collectively known as the Lenape (or Lenni-Lenape), who were forcibly removed through land dispossession and violence. We commit to learning more about the original people of this land, and supporting the work of the National Association of Tribal Historic Preservation Officers, Landback, and Cultural Survival.

"For those who live in New England, you may be unaware that beneath your feet lies thousands of years of history. The Mahīkanak, or Mohicans inhabited the Hudson River Valley for thousands of years before the arrival of Europeans. Beneath the vast urban sprawl lies the burial sites of thousands of our ancestors.” Learn more here.
