They’re back! Our maritozzi hibernate during the summer since it’s a little too warm for them (the whipped cream doesn’t like the heat/humidity), and we’re so excited to welcome them back to the case. A maritozzo is a traditional Roman sweet bun made with a soft bun (our brioche) that is split and filled with whipped cream, then dusted with powdered sugar and topped with a luxardo cherry.
And, fun fact, in Ancient Rome, a maritozzo was a prospective husband would hide a ring in one of these pastries give it to his bride to be. Which in our opinions sounds like a chipped tooth waiting to happen. But we digress! It’s delicious.
Allergens = coconut (whipped cream)
